Anyone Hear Of A Rts Maker?
i was thinking to myself one day, "man, i would like to make something C&C, or like in that genre, maybe theres something like RPG maker out there that can do this?"many months, make it years now, later, i have been entirely unsucessful.
so in my last hope to think and make something cool, im asking you all, have you EVER seen something like this? at all?

you read a book 6 inches thick, and thats only the 1st of 3 textbooks my brother used to have when he was lerning C++

ugh, requires money...
An open source RTS engine. Seems flexible.
Whats with this "Incompatable browser" BS? When I change my User Agent string to IE the page works fine! Whoever maintains this page needs a cluestick beating.
Oh yeah, and I recommend learning C/C++ and some easy API like Allegro or SDL. C++ really isn't that hard... Of course I've been using it for longer than I can remember, so I my judgement might be a bit off.
EDIT: Another advantage of using those libraries is that there are a ton of premade libraries available for things like tile maps or sprites.
I've got my entire C/C++/ASM80x86 library, ten or twelve books, that take up maybe half a shelf total. The thickest one is two inches, and I never use it because it's a crap 'SAMS' book. The one I actually read and use is a spiralbound book labelled simply 'C++ Programming', which I'd picked up in high school. :b
im going to try fiddle with openCNC after i get the email back from them saying if its possable or not, aside im looking for something like RPGmaker, something easy to use, not notepad.
also im lazy, and i dont really wanna spent my summer lerning c++, i have better things to do than spend all the summer in a hot boiling room on a hot summers day
oh and IE 5+ only, WTH die?
