<div class="IPBDescription">Gotta quit before mapchange finishes =\</div> First off, I'm running Steam, if that helps. Whenever I'm playing and the map changes, the game will freeze after it gets done with "Precaching Resources" and hits "Parsing Game Info." Does this effect everyone? If not, how can this be fixed?

I didn't see this problem anywhere, so I hope I'm not repeating someone.

are you running b4a or 2.0?

if it is 2.0, switch to b4a as that i a known (and not gona be fixed) problem with 2.0

    if it is b4a......

does this hapen with other games?
if so, go to the steampowered forums and get help there.

if not, go to the public beta forum.
Read all of the pinned threads and then do what is apropriate.

I am running b4a, this does not happen with other games, and I found no relevant information in the Public Beta Forum. The only thing I can do for now is quit before it freezes and I have to End Task it.

I have been having the same issue since beta 4. It doesn't happen in other mods nor in Half Life itself. I have tried removing NS and reinstalling it, as well as completely removing steam and all entries to in in the registry. I tried OpenGL and D3D rendering, various sound modes, etc. Nothing has worked. This is not a random occurance, it happens at every level change. For me it also gets stuck at "Parsing Game Info." when I alt-tab to close the process, it is using ~50% cpu(probably 100% usage because of improper Hyper Threading reporting).

    - P4 3.0, 800FSB
    - SB Audigy 2 ZS, Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB with Omega 2.5.14 drivers(cat 4.1), XP Pro sp1
    - 1024 * 768, tried various modes
    - Tried every sound mode
    - Steam client
    - NS 4.0a

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is most deffinitely my favorite online mod.

Update: I found a thread that mentioned "Total Recorder" causing this problem. I removed it, rebooted, and voila the problem has seemed to disappeared. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
