Connecting With Ns 2.0

I haven't played since 2.0 first came out, when steam came out, I stopped playing all together. I'd like to play NS 2.0, I downloaded the client, but when I try to connect it tells me:

i reccomend if you have spare HD space, you install another copy of HL, update it, and install the pre-steam version onto it. there are bound to be some steam haterz online WON. if not, the i guess you need to use B4.
