Lasers And Onos

lasers dont hurt and onos sink
Ok, so I've been making this map, and I recently completed it. Or so I thought. The map contains a laser trap in it where when you activate a button, the lasers come on, and (supposedly) kill anyone standing in their path. My problem is, the lasers don't do damage at all. The env_laser's are set to do 300 damage a second. They do 0. Do lasers not do damage in NS?

Now for my second problem. Skulks stand on the floor. Gorges stand on the floor. Fades and Lerks stand on the floor. Onos' sink. By sink, I mean their feet aren't level with the floor -- they're actually a couple feet below it. The only time the onos' feet are on the floor is when they duck.

All i can sugegst is make sure your compliling with the corect nshulls file to try and remove the onos problem and maybe other future clipping problems.

You could try adding a trigger_hurt to the laser bit... other than that I dunno. Oh, and make sure to use the right nshulls file for the clipping.

Could someone post the contents of their nshulls.txt file? Mine might have something wrong with it, the onos still has sinking problems.

Make sure you're using the one in your nsp folder and that you are specifying it in Batch under CSG.

But here it is anyway...

32 32 72
64 64 108
32 32 36

EDIT: I played a game with you on CO Weeble, dude you rock, if you can map like you can frag then I expect great things from you! (And welcome to the boards!)

i think i might know a solution to your prob
(although if i am correct, there actually isnt one )
in my (now abandoned) :edit: MAP, i had a func_breakable with explosion magnitude 500. when i compiled and ran, the explosion didnt do jack squat, so i figured it wasnt meant to do damage.
anyways...
once it hit the playable point, i hosted a listen server with my map...
welded the weld point...
and got severly blown up
turns out that certain entities dont do damage unless an actual server is running!!!
i hope this fixes your issue

as for the onos part, add the nshulls.txt to your compile (should find how somewhere)

Env_laser doesn't do damage in NS, as was also mentioned in this post. Use a trigger_hurt around the env_laser instead.
