We dont need new threads about "OMGZ HOW OMAZINGLY COOOL A PHLAMETHROW3R WOULD B3!!!!!11111" such topics have been discussed so much that many of us don't want to read it anymore because we knew every side of the discussion off by heart.
Apocalypse I'm implying that as the game has grown some people (certainly not all) have joined who have thought they deserve some say in what happens here, and act like spoilt brats.
You all know the rules, you all know we answer to them, as well. If you feel a thread has only been locked because we felt like it, PM us. I won't promise that this'll lead to a re-opening, because we tend to think about it before hitting the switch, but we'll consider your points. If you can't be bothered to do so in a halfway civil and rational fashion, yet expect <i>us</i> to clean up after every single troll and newbie in what is, if you hadn't noticed, our free time, well, that's tough luck.
Concerning already discussed topics and revived threads - both are case-by-case situations, which can lead to a margin of error: Yes, it tends to be counter-productive to revive ten-months-old threads, but it's as pointless to have three threads on the same subject in the three frontmost pages, or a topic half the forum is sick and tired of (which does not tend to add to the threads productive progression) around. Again, in case of disagreements, contact the mod or admin in question, or if that does not work, me.
Also, I'm through with such topics. I'm keeping Thems thread in Disc. open so that someone who wants to introduce new 'big-picture' arguments gets a chance to, but aside from this, I'll from now on enforce the rule of keeping moderation discussions in private.

Not to pre-empt Nem here, but I wanted to comment specifically on these two points. <!--QuoteBegin-Bugler+Jun 13 2004, 01:51 AM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (Bugler @ Jun 13 2004, 01:51 AM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->" Discussion stays lively and polite, for a major gaming community; flames and hate-spam are killed quickly. Maybe once a month or so (if that!) we get a complaint about moderation. If you think about it, that's one complaint per 30,000 posts. For the most part, people are happy with the way we run things (or at the worst, not annoyed enough to comment on it to us). When you say that "criticism of the system is usually removed," you fail to point out or recognize the fact that WE are the ones who "remove" it... and what we do is take it to our private forum and DISCUSS it. We take serious complaints seriously. To bring up everyone's favorite complainer, we've had quite a bit of discussion about scooter_blue - not just his own violations either, but the points he brought up in complaint. When we say "keep moderation disputes private," that's not to silence complainers. It's to keep the public board free of it. <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->And please, dont remind be about the legality of such issues- i dont debate that the owner, who pays for the space, can make any rules he wants.
