<div class="IPBDescription">Very first mission</div> Me and my pals just graduated from the marine Cor. we all knew we would never see each other again knowing we were all be half way across the galaxy from one another. We said our fairwells hopeing to keep in touch i put my stuff in the cargo compartments of the ship filled with more marines.
We were ready for our first mission... we docked at the Mars Space outpost a desolent place smelled like rotten eggs but no one minded. A man escorted us to the ready room he gave us the standard issue equipment armor, LMG, Pistol and a knife. I raised my hand asking "what do we need all this stuff for?" "you're going on your first mission" he replyed in a polite way.
"MISSION!! but we just got out of training!" i yelled out in shock "calm down" he said "its a very simple mission all we need you guys to do is go to the Jupiter Station and search for any survivors and the last time we checked with our scanners there was no life on board..." but i knew that wasn't what it was about the name 'Karhaa' in the back of my mind all we knew about it that the jupiter station was where it was first seen.
We climbed back into the Transport ship fully equiped. we buckled up ready for our first and probably last mission. I looked around staring at faces of my team mates all as nervous as i was. Some of them had more combat experience than others but it was all the same to me kill or be killed. Most of these people i had never seen all but one his name was Joe Churchill a quiet guy kinda shy didn't talk much.
Our commander made the announcement "We are about to dock at jupiter station ready your weapons!" The Commander said "we should better get going" the ship slowly docked at the jupiter station. Once docked the Commander pushed the button opening the door between the ship and the station with our weapons ready.
The first thing i smelled was the smell of decaying flesh about 3 of us felt like throwing up but we got over the stench pretty quickly. The commander divided us into groups he made 3 groups each group containing around 5 people each. Joe somehow got into my group. Well him being the only one i know i guess it was ok.
It was 2 hours since we last landed the commander gave all of use the order to search for any surviors in his Commander Chair by the ship being guarded by Sentry turrets. Our group were walking in a dark corridor couldn't really see execpt for sparks which went off giving light every few seconds. Joe behind me sliped on something falling to the floor, dazed he stood up wondering what just happened. I bent down to my amazement i picked up a long Knife like thing attached on to some fleshy material. I looked at my hands they were covered in this green liquid. I told joe and the others "lets go just forget about it" i dropped the unknown object on the ground continueing on our mission.
It was an hour later till we found the cafeteria, our group sat down tired from walking the for past 3 hours. We hadn't found anything not even a body or blood it was just an empty ship or so i thought... The commander told us to search the bridge since we were closes to it we all agreed to go check it out knowing how all the other rooms looked like we knew nothing would be there.
We walked through several long corridors Joe still behind me. WHOOSH!!! we all turned around, nothing one then all we heard was a heavy breathing noise we turned around and in front of my team mate was a 6 foot thing with 2 huge claws. It swung at my team mate slicing through his armor like a hot knife through butter killing him instantly.
The remaing of us shot at it green liquid spewed everywhere wasting our clip on this thing creature killing it Instantly. I called the Commander "we need medical support one of my team mates is down" aparrently not only our team had suffered losses out of the 5 teams only 2 remained. He told us on how they reported on some thing attacking there group "becareful and carry out your objectives" he said.
We finnally made it to the bridge, we were not ready for what were about to see...
Joe opened the door. Little creatures scurryed out of what was the bridge a huge Sack thing hung from the cieling it wasn't guarded but it looked like it was alive. We told Simmons one of our team members he was the only one with a Grenade Launcher. He fired repeditly at it until it gave out and exploded releasing even more green liquid and what looked like to be premature Larvae.
Commander said on the Radio "GET OUT OF THERE NOW!!! RETURN TO SHIP" "whats the matter" i said in a confused voice. "The other teams are gone, whiped out, dead get back to the ship immidiately!" we all ran as fast as we could Joe still behind me thought he heard a stomping noise. I looked back a giant Creature which resmbled a rhino was chasing after use with fanominal speed. I pulled out my pistol firing repeditly at it. Green blood came out but it was still after us. Simmons Triped over some wiring "HELP" he yelled but we couldn't go back the Thing Trampled Simmons killing him Instantly
I got on the elevator along with 2 of my other team mates. Joe still running grabbed on to the elevator floor lifting him or so we thought the Creature leaped up opening its wide jaws, SNAPP! thats all we heard. Blood dripped out of his mouth. We pulled Joe up onto the elevator or half of him atleast Joe's Lower half of his body from the waist down was gone his intestines hanging out. There he said his last words "Tell my mama that i love her" there with his last breath he was gone in a span of 10 minutes i had lost 2 of my friends.
We got back into the ship buckled up looked around one last time the seats that were usually taken up were empty only a few were filled up. I tryed to remember their faces their happy joyful faces especially Joe's he was the only one i knew well. The Commander came by looked at me and said "Did you find any surviours?" I looked at him "what do you think" i replyed. "Lets get out of here" the Commander ordered. With that one order we were off back to the Mars Station then home...
