Just in case you dont know its euro 2004.

And why do you call American football, football? as you dont use your foot much in it?

american football is called football because you ahve to capture as many feet on the field as possible in each play... yeah that's it <_< >_>

Oh man that was such an awesome ending! I was totally ecstatic (being French) when Zidane score the free kick, but the penalty right after that just killed me of joy <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I have to say I'm really sorry for you poor brits though, Beckham was quite remarkable <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I hearby request a mod to change my name to "England are the biggest bunch of noobs ever"

I think a famous quote, once said about General [insert some general's name here] applies here:

"Only [insert member of your choice from the English football team] could **** so bad a defeat from the jaws of certain victory"

Never mind, we will whip yo'**** in the playoffs

Because the ball is shaped more like a foot than a ball?

    Or...
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Football, American, distinct type of football that developed in the United States in the 19th century from soccer (association football) and rugby football.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

They took rugby and soccer and merged it sort of... (I don't beleive you can kick in rugby?) Then the name football stuck with it...

I think you'll find Gerrard's sloppy pass-back and James's excessive tackle were to blame for the penalty, while Cole and Heskey are to blame for the free kick.

well I think the reason was mostly that Barthez made an excellent save! The shot itself wasnt too bad and the first free kick was beautiful!

You *can* kick in rugby! In fact the kick is used a lot more in rugby than it is in football!

I saw some of the match. I was in the bowling at the time, running back and forward between the alleys and the bar where the TV was. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Well, I had 200 on France -1/4. Needless to say, when England put the ball on the spot, I was quite worried. I thought France would never be able to recover from the deficit, but thanks to Zidane's spectacular double (and of course Beckham's failure to convert the penalty to a goal)... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

For outright winner, I have Spain at 6/1. I say it was real nice of Portugal to do Spain such a favor on the opening day.
