    define a box.

a box with an open end and a func_door_rotating on it like a lid?
a box where you weld it and it appears?

just a few suggestions on what you wanted to do, your question is a bit vague on how you would like the box to close.

    The weldable icons disapear?

weldable icons only show up with "cl_autohelp 1" in multiplayer.
maybe its also something with "-dev" and "sv_cheats"
    Noting to really worry about.

i didn't think weldable icons disapear. but maybe that's my bad memory. if it's a vent or something you can just put the icon on one side of the vent when it closes. it'll half disapear. i think they use this in eclipse @ horseshoe
