Sound Error

<div class="IPBDescription">man is it annoying...</div> After about 15 minutes of using search I couldnt find a post on this bug, so I decided to put one down. I've been out of the loop for a while, havening not played NS since Beta 3 first came out except for at a few LAN parties. So I have played all the recent Beta releases. This problem has only shown up in Beta 4.
Once I load up Natural Selection just about every time the sound is "buggy." Its constantly staticy and sounds much like bad reception on the radio, but only when a sound is made like firing your gun, running, building, and talking. Radio Commands do not effect it as far as the human ear can detect. Nor does taunting. While in the commander's chair it is bearable as it is a low steady staticy hiss unless someone talks using Voice Over Net.
I have the latest sound drivers, my volume is not up that high and no my speakers and headphones arent blown. I also have tried reinstalling NS 3 times. The bug is still there. It is fairly annoying and much of the time I dont play with sound anymore. Which as you all know (or should) isn't necessarily the best thing when dealing with Skulks and trying to ninja into a hive.
Anyways, this bug is very very annoying and since I haven't seen a report on it (even after searching) though many people have said they have the same issue and that "everyone does" I felt like its a good idea to report it now that Steam is down temporarily. Here's hoping a fix is found soon as it ruins much of the game.

It went away after I tweaked some things (try turning off EAX or something.)
<span style='color:green'>*phased*</span> to Tech Support.
play with:
rolling back drivers (hey, it works some times)
turning on off EAX/AED
Also, does this happen in other mods/games?
