...better for some?
Ok, in NS and CO maps, evolutions are much different. Heres what i want to know, what are the main upgrades you get in CO and NS w/ all 3 chambers,
for me, i go lerk, and get SoF, Adren, and Redeption in CO first. In NS, i go lerk or fade, then get regen, SoF, and Adren.
It works decently for me.

QUICKDUDE AWAY!!!
I think, like any decent player, you need to keep your upgrades flexible. Its foolish to keep picking the same upgrades regardless of the situation.
There's no "one" combination I favour over the others, it differs on the class used, the tactical situation, map used, etc etc etc.
Unless im just a skulk. then its cara, celerity, cloaken.
Is crazy killer machine with all skill.
Fine....ever thought, what works best for your team depending on situations??
That's the biggest problem on most servers, imo, and selfish playing without paying attention destroys teamwork!
In NS i don't get ups until i'll build rt(s) or hive and later evolved to higher lifeform.
-2 hive fade with cara+cele/focus
-3 hive fade with regen+cele+focus
-lerk with regen+adren+focus
-onos with regen+cele+focus
In combat i'm almost always the only battlegorge..stopped so many jp-rushes and possible rine-wins.
-leap- -xeno-adren- then always saving one point to go gorge immediatly.
Carapace: Celerity: Cloaking.
Cara is great when running from marines; Celerity improves the gorge's sluggish movements; and cloaking is good if you can't run, and just want the rines to harmlessly pass you by.
I aint too keen on focus bcus i find i can go more with cara than i can with focus at times although focus is good at the early parts of the match, so is cara when the marines have low level weapons and cannot really make an attack on the aliens
Its AlmightyNu's Uber Skulk build:
1. Carapace - I get this right off the bat because it can get you time for an extra kill or two before death, and in a game where kills = power, its important to keep the advantage.
2. Celerity - Every second you aren't harassing/killing marines is a second wasted; plus there is nothing worse than being on the verge of killing a high level heavy, or their command chair and dying, and having to take forever getting back to finish it off.
3. Silence - I feel this is underused, especially in public servers. I find that if you can manage to get behind a group of marines, this is 10x better than cloaking; and unless they are experienced players, marines tend to get disoriented and panicky when the people around them start dropping inexplicably.
4. SoF - ...and the best way to get behind those groups of marines is to know where they are. With cloaking you can wait for them to pass, or walk in and get one kill, but for those of us who are impatient to slaughter large groups, SoF + silence is wonderful
5. Regen - With silence and carapace, its likely you might get hit intermittently, but still survive, and the best way to keep the damage from building up is regen
By this time, you should already be able to take out large groups of marines going solo or with another attacker to even increase marine disorientation, everything else is just gravy after this, and the order doesn't matter as much.
6. Adrenaline - When rushing around the feet of marines, or attacking a forgotten command chair, you dont wanna run out of attacks.
7. Unlock: leap - Helps you travel faster, and when chasing a group of marines from behind, is a great way to get off that first attack, plus a silence leap is freaky to marines.
8. Save
9. Unlock: Xeno - lets face it, xeno is incredibly useful in the right situations, especially in large games. Great for following up a fade or onos attack.
10. CloakingWhyNot - By this level the upgrade can't significantly improve you, but there are times when cloaking comes in handy.
The soul of this build is to run up behind large groups of marines, disorient them, and kill them.
There are some tips for alien combat, that this build makes the most of:
There are about 3 main paths between the hive and the marine base, 1 of which is usually neglected, keep this in mind
These paths are interconnected! Too many aliens and even more marines tend to play by running straight down one path toward the enemy base.
What you should be doing is using SoF to watch for large groups of marines moving towards your base as you run down a different path, then running in behind them and killing them off (yes even heavy trains can fall to this skulk). They wont expect it, and may not even notice until their health is dropping, when it is too late. The benefits of this is that:
1. It protects hive from organized offensives
2. It gets you lots of kills
3. As it is nearer your base, it gives more kills to your teammates, as you dont need much past level 6 to max out
4. Your versatility also allows you to run around masses of marines to attack the defenseless command chair. Always find the one entrance to the marine base that they dont watch, and come in that way.
Keep in mind that this build works best on public servers against moderately experienced players, keep this in mind before attacking me about how it doesn't work against expert marines.
leap ( usually. some maps (angst, kestrel) dont really need it necessarily and if i get lucky or something like that and can grap 3-4 kills right off the bat then i like to go 1,5 minute fade. but if not then its leap. )
save
save
fade
cara
cele
regen
adren
sof or silence, usually sof... doesnt really matter because game is usually over before i get to lvl10
in ns
as a fade
regen if 1 hive, cara if more
always celerity
focus usually
as skulk, none. unless we get mc or sc first in which case silence/focus
as gorge regen or cara, always celerity, always sof.
i hardly ever lerk but when i do its same setup as fade (unless we have an onos that is) :P i suck as lerk.
