Theres a patch for the Thief 3 AI (an official one, and lots of inofficial trainers in case its not released yet). And if you're a console user I laugh in your face.

Oh, you have an FX card, and not only that, but a midrange one. My condolences. Anyways, even with that card, you should be able to get a decent fps with the details lowered a bit, I know people with Geforce 4 TI's that can run the game, and the GF4TI is only slightly faster than your card, and sometimes even slower in games with lots of fancy pixel shaders (like Thief 3).

But the fact that the game is TERRIBLE looking no matter what you do, and the fact that many things I can have on in games that are MUCH more technically demanding, and just plain look better, and this I STILL have to run at 640x480.

Nononono, don't get me wrong- I can run it. But the fact that the game is TERRIBLE looking no matter what you do, and the fact that many things I can have on in games that are MUCH more technically demanding, and just plain look better, and this I STILL have to run at 640x480.
As do many of my Radeon 9800 friends.
