Can't remove track
For some reason, i was trying to listen to something on my iPod yesterday, but it just skipped to the next track, as winamp does when it's not a valid file, so i think, ok i'll fix it when i get home.
I get home, i try to remove the track from the iPod, so i right click, click remove track, click yes in the box that pops up, as usual. I look on the list of songs, and it's still there
so i browse to the location in windows explorer, delete the track from there, and go back into musicmatch(i might switch to iTunes just because it's easier), look at the list, and it's still there.
i Try to add the track as if it wasn't ever on there, and it still doesn't work :/

it was working fine until yesterday.

any help much appreciated

[EDIT:] i have looked on the apple site, but the search doesn't turn up anything, considering that whatever you search for it either comes up with nothing, or the exact same list as when you search for something completely different.

You can reset your iPod back to factory default, just make sure you save all your stuff. I don't remember the combination of keys that you have to hold for it, let me get my manual...

    *ninja-edit*
Ah, here we go, this is what the manual says:
Toggle the Hold switch (set it to Hold, then turn off again). Then press Menu and Play/Pause simultaneously for about 5 seconds, until the apple logo appears.

God, I love the iPod box.

I had to do this because when I turned my iPod on the first time, I accidently chose some far eastern language (Chinese, Japanese, etc.) and it is pretty hard to change it back to German or English without being able to read the menu options.

Once again, if you do this, it will ERASE all your data on the iPod, so make sure you back up all your stuff.

Man when stuff like that happens on my computer, I always end up getting freaked out. I can't really help you with this, as I have no experience with iPod's, but good luck anyway.

    Maybe you should try that?

I don't know, I had empty ghost playlists without names appear (undeletable) but I lived with it... I came to the conclusion that it was because of my switch to winamp's iPod plugin. It was quite buggy and not comfy to use, so I finished by resetting my iPod and starting back clean with iTunes.

Now my question: is there any way to control iTunes from outside of the program? (ie winamp control to control it from ingame)

Just start up WinAmp and load the songs directly from your iPod exchangeable hard drive ?
