I can tell you'll really bend over backwards to get in one.
It's a clan recruitment forum! They must sell ice cream! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
2) play wiht clanmates nonstop for 1 week
3) scim ('ring') with the clan for 1 week
4) if not already offered explicity, add clantag to name
5) your in
6) if 1=download, get kicked out eventually

thanks!
other tips on getting into clans include kissing up to the top ten players of all time (including, but not limited to, meb, titanium, romano, etc.).
just follow these simple directions, and in no time whatsoever, doubtless some top-10, almighty clan like cobracon will come crawling to your doorstep begging for you to join them.
edit: i almost forgot, how big is your userconfig.cfg? if it's anything below 50 megs, don't expect to join a clan. ever.

Show you know what your doing and wait. If they want you they'll come to you more often then not. At least thats what I used to do in tribes/tribes 2 when recruiting <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

edit: forgot lorf.
i love clans D:
especially newbie ones, like moment of impact, <3 <3 <3 (except for that <span style='color:w hite'>Dodge this.</span> abix)
He was kidding... maybe you should rethink your opinion of clans/clanners, we are nice people <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Plus it's a *lot* of fun.
Hey at least stop by #nspug (on irc.gamesurge.net) for a pug and try it out. If you like it go ahead and join a clan, if not go ahead and keep pubbing.
Edit: That offer goes out to anyone who has a bad taste in their mouth about vets/clans, just because one of them was a douche on a pub doesn't make us all bad guys. Why not try out a pug? Maybe you can even start your own clan with some regulars on your favorite pub. Most, if not all, clans will help you out if you want some strategy advice for clan games.

lol, i can't believe you just said that.
I wish I had the time to clan <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
first time ever?
but this isn't every new "lower skilled" clan, just the vast majority of 10 day old NSPlayer clans..
they can't seem to accept the fact that there are groups of people who play for hours each day, and have been doing for the past two years, they seem to think skills can be acquired within a week fo starting up.. how wrong they are :<

you must all really want to be in clans.
Clans aren't just about skill, though, as there's a huge social aspect to it, which is more commonly known as clan politics. As you can guess, this means that these people tend to be in their own world, talking about things that the rest of us don't know or care about. This is why IRC is so important, because it seems like most of these guys just idle in IRC and are either chatting or playing.
Most of the positions in a clan are either specialists, such as the guy with a server, or they are in some sort of leadership position, such as the guy in charge of getting people to show up. Basically, unless you are really good at something, or just happen to have your own server, you'll need to learn how to manage people.
Then again, this was almost 6 years ago, so things may have changed. I imagine some of it still applies, though.
(from the start)
NSPlayer - "OMG! I don't understand this freaking game. How the hell do you buy a gun?"
Newbie - "This game is too hard, wth. I should go play counter strike. Oh cool, I just killed something. I will play for alittle longer."
Pubber - "I am pretty good, but I swear that one guy hacks. He kills me every time I see him. Must have a wall/aim/speed/pwnage hax."
Pub Champ - "Game is getting boring now, I own everything. They keep calling me a haxor lol. Whatever, maybe I should join a clan, that might make it more intersting."
Nub Clanner - "OMG that whole team hacks. WTH, I am leet and I didnt get a kill that entire game. This sucks, I hate them all. Freakin pandas/exi/cri/eR haxors!!!"
Clanner - "OK, now I see, maybe they don't hack. We gotta learn teamwork like theirs. Where can I download some game demos? Jeez look at that teamwork, like clockwork."
Clan Champ - ...Unfortunately, I don't know what this guy would say, being that I myself have only reached "Clanner" status. Maybe one of you haxor/gods of ns could fill us all in.
maybe "Wow i need a new challenge. All or nothing... Time to try out my Uber 1337 skillz in real life"

lmao, how true how true. however i skipped the newbie stage, i never like CS much, so i pushed myself in NS. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Unfortunately, the clan champ normally has all too much to say - specifically about how great he is, how much your clan sucks, how much he hates n00bs, blames said newbs for every time he dies, how a lower skill level also equals having a less valid opinion, and he gets angry and leaves when he's not getting at LEAST 5/1 kpd.
The inverse relationship between skills and social abilities has long been a fascination of mine, only matched by the "Gold Medallion Phenomena" - which states that the greater the number of Gold Medallion Icon Bearing Players (GMIBP's) arrayed on one team, the greater the attraction between that team and other GMIBP's. Once GMIBP concentration reaches past critical saturation point of 4 on any given team, the probability of further joining GMIBP's selecting the opposite team is almost but not exactly equal to zero.
If you're in a clan, if you're really skilled, and you're a great guy - then obviously the above doesnt apply to you, because like the Yeti - you dont exist <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
If you took the above seriously, then chances are it DOES apply to you.
