Weeee. normal size is 1280x1024, shrunk to 800x600.
I've had this desktop style for quite some time. I like it because it's not-cluttered. usually 4 - 6 things max in the systray, depending on what i'm running, and the desktop is easy to keep clean with just shortcuts I use, though its annoying having to change all the ns icons whenever I put new shortcuts on. My Computer = the Nuke button icon from NS. Fear.
Wow, some of you folks have some cluttered systrays. Ugh! And many desktops are overflowing with shortcuts, too! I tried that for a bit, but at least I was using WinTidy to keep it simple...
I cant remember. It was a few months back. I'd search the Artwork forum as I think thats where I got them. If you cant find them, let me know and i'll host a zip with them on my FTP.

Just got this background and i love it (had to shrink the size down a bit because the only image thing i have is paint which can't really save images as jpgs that small, but the rest of the image is just black)
**EDIT** wrong bloody image, hold on, i try and get it hosted
**EDIT X2** I'll just shrink it down.... not in the mood for scouring for free image hosts, heh.

In case you were talking to me, i got it from: <a href='http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/wallpapers.html' target='_blank'>http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/wallpapers.html</a> it's called "Cataclysm" but there's a lot more good stuff on there too.
Turns out this guy has an <a href='http://www.deviantart.com/view/3869587/' target='_blank'>updated version</a> on DeviantART, looks even better.
Edit: Might as well post my windows desktop too. <a href='http://dorian.carpe-noctem.ca/images/desktop1600.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://dorian.carpe-noctem.ca/images/desktop1024.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a>
As for a reason, I was browsing the site that Stickman linked to (a while ago, when people were doing those star/planet backgrounds and posting them) and saw this wallpaper and it seemed neat. Yeah. Crappy reason. But I like it.

You can hide the icons by right clicking (arrange icons-> hide icons) Anyway, I'm using the same as Gwar, except I have brighten mine up (to show more detail, I have a crappy monitor) and broaden her face to look better <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> God dahm you Photobuck...

What's a desktop without the icons.. why should people hide their custom icons <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
