Ns Trailer On Startup In Steam

WarfareWarfare Join Date: 2002-10-29 Member: 1697Members
I know this is an odd question, but I was wondering how you enable the movies in the nsp\media folder in Steam.

NS currently has trailer.avi and uwe.avi, and a textfile named "startupvids.txt" in the \media folder.
I tried adding trailer, trailer.avi and "trailer.avi" (with the quotes), but no video loads on the startup of the splashscreen.

You don't need to know why I want them, I just need to know how.

Thanks in advance <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    It uses nsp as the base folder so:

    "media\uwe.avi"

    And if you're thinking what i'm thinking it's time to go to my friends house and add a porn movie.

    Make it "media\uwe.avi" with the quotemarks.

    It will load when you start the game, like when launching it or joining a server.

    This is sweet, I had no idea you could do this. Makes it feel like a game all its own. I got a question though...

    Is there anyway to change the values of the file? I mean like make it run smoother and what have you. I'm not 100% computer savvy.

    Be warned; originally the movies were enabled, but Flayra disabled playback before open-beta status as they caused a number of peoples' machines to crash for one reason or another.

    Yes, I believe Tal mixed the version numbers up, which does however not detract from his points validity.
