I was just reading one of talesin's posts, and he mentioned a few things that hinted at some of the minor details of how NS gets updated. It sparked my curiosity and questions were just flowing through my head.

So, here I am thinking that it would be really interesting if someone in the know (that had the time) would write up an article over at rr.org (or somewhere else) about the development process that NS goes through behind the scenes. Just because it would be interesting reading, and maybe it would help some people understand why updates don't happen in a flash.

Though, there are plenty of reasons why that article would never get written. Too bad.

But, I can always dream, can't I?

    lol its kinda a catch22 - we all want the devs to update the game asap but we also expect them to have the time to read the forums as well as leading their own lives (which I've heard rumors they sometimes like to do...not sure i believe it though <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

    would be quite an interesting read but i think they've got enough on their plates really.     Well Folks this is my take on how NS is developed:


    My guess is Flayra,Max,designers,modelers,animators,artists etc. whatnot and go through coming up with ideas,drawing rough ideas etc.then the modelers come out come up with a neat "skin".

    They probably design,sketch,draw several models "pictures",rough concept drawings and have an animator animate the figure maybe stick in the game to test it to see how it works out balancing it with the game "internal testing",things we probably don't get to see lol.

    the other big thing would be the "coding", "programming" to make all these work together fluintly.

    The testing on maps my guess is maybe some maps we'll never get to see or something to see how well characters move around,die,respawn.

    That's actually quite a good idea, although sadly nor very possible right now. I'll start pestering the devs with it once things have settled down a little.

    first the pt icon is a skulk, since when was hl almost ten years old =o, plus they arent the best players.
