I'm sorry to be mean, but are you saying that you would rather us sit on a feature complete version of 3.1 just so that we can playtest more maps? It is unfortuante that Zunni isn't available currently to take care of map additions, but I'm pretty sure there are others who would prefer us to go ahead and release 3.1 for the balance tweeks and bug fixes.

- Construction work is fun to do or else people wouldn't do it in their free time. - It is rewarding when people enjoy the house you've built - You become more well known and respected in the community - You learn more about drywalling, carpentry, painting, and construction in general
I'm not implying that mapping is at all commesurate with building homes for poor people, but I think the analogy works. It's still something that some people do as a job that you are doing for free for a community.
On the 3.1 bit, Zunni had mentioned earlier that he was making up for the lack of playtester time by encouraging other communities that he had access to to playtest the maps. CAL playtested the map for a week. Many liked it. They suggested changes and I implemented them. Now some players are calling for it to be used in the regular season.
This is quite a bit more playtesting than I imagine would have gone on with the playtesting team, so personally, I don't think they need to do more than get a slightly updated version from me that fixes the 2-3 known issues (2 obscure stuck issues, r_speeds in spots) and include it in the installer. I can understand however, if they want more internal QA. I just hope they get around to it for next time . . .

if people are interested, the map is running on ns.rtfo.org Go check it out. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
If it means anything to you, I've asked nemesis zero if he would mind getting Shiva into the constellation testing portion of 3.1. Shiva has been played by cal, so I definitely think it's able to be in the 3.1 beta as well.

I've done a little more work on it to try and make it more fade friendly. All of the octagonal doors that just had a little lip sticking out from the ceiling now have a 4:1 slope of clip leading up to them from the ceiling. This should make blinking past them much easier, as you should now slide off somewhat when you hit your head. I've been tweaking the lighting a bit, and getting r_speeds down in the places where they had crept up.
I predict, moultano, if you do not already, that you will come to love func_detail in source <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
