Microphone Doesn't Work

<div class="IPBDescription">In anything!</div> It had been working fine for ages then up and stopped working the other day, I've been getting the following error codes and even followed a ton of stuff on google that regarded them, to no avail. I also used the instructions on the microsoft knowledge base, got nothing. Reinstalled both dx9b and my cards drivers...nadda. I've included the DirectX dump incase anyone can help, thanks!
Errors: An error occured during DirectPlay Voice setup. The error code is 0x80004005.
Windows cannot execute DpvSetup.exe, use Add/Remove Programs control panel to install.
(btw dxdiag says no problems are found, I'm clueless :/)
Edit: Noticed something wrong in the dxdiag...the "sound captures device" thingy was defaulted wrong, to the realtek onboard instead of the soundblaster. Fixed that and nothing changed but I updated the dxdiag file anyway. Onboard is also now disabled via bios, didn't do a thing.
