Will be the downfall of NS
My thoughts:

CO is just NS-Lite for the CS player. I've had people that I convinced to stop playing CS and play NS, but they had the wrong impression since they played CO first, and went back to CS. The ones that played NS instead loved it. NS is ,well, what makes NS NS. Its fun because its completely different than any FPS game before, with the concept of "first person strategy" in a HL mod, and all the other impressive parts of the game that were never thought to be possible in HL. But CO is just like any other FPS game (like CS) set in the future. I think CO is the reason that NS is starting to lose interest and slowly but surely will degenerate into the ranks of the unknown HL mods (i.e. science vs. industry).

Anyone agrees with me? disagrees? Post responses to my proclaimation.

Everyone knows CO will eventually kill NS. It seems 3/4 of the servers are currently playing a CO map when I go on NSP.

    However:

    1) The server ops don't care.

    2) This topic has been talked about time after time, sorry D:

How would you feel if you worked really long and hard on something for everyone to enjoy, only to find out that everyone hated it and wants it removed? What would you do in this situation?

Now you know how the Natural Selection team feels. They spent countless hours coding, testing hoping to unleash a wonderful addition to their already great mod, only to have it shot down because it's too "Counter-Strike" like. Combat isn't the fall of Natural Selection. Natural Selection is simply getting boring because it's getting old.

People like to try new things. Don't blame Combat.

Inactivity is what will kill Natural Selection, not combat.

The only thing that is killing NS is all these negative topics about it, chill out and play.

Long, drawn-out clashes between technologically superior Marines and advancely evolved species of Kharra are quite enjoyable to me, which is why I loved the previous builds where Combat matches could easily go half an hour. Of course, mp_combattime brings back these memories for me.

Yes, I said it, Combat can prove to be an enjoyable pause from classic play! Deal with it!!

Combat is intended to be a server-filler, for when there are not enough players to get a proper game going. In Nem's words... It's here. Deal with it.
