Booya! I Can Finally Do A Wallflip!

awww yeah!
Ever since I saw a video posted by someone on these boards doing crazy backflips etc (his name was Joe Eiago or something like that) I've really been interested about doing stuff like that. Well I half assed tried to do stuff like that in my backyard but it didn't really pan out to much. So I finally found this great drop in gymnastics gym that teach's you to do anything you want to do!. So ever since then (oh about three or four months?) I've learned how do backflip, backhandspring, roundoff, frontflip and now finally WALLFLIP jacky chan style!.

Check it out: Flippage! (sorry about the quality but its my friends craptastic 100 dollar digital camera)

once I get some more tricks, maybe butterfly twist and/or double leg I wanna put together a demo real or somethin haha!.

niiice.. i gotta learn that stuff

would i be right in thinking that if you got a bit higher you could do a full wallflip without the whole "almost falling over forward" ? [the end of the clip where you look like youre going to do a backflip]

    Bah...no slow-mo at the end =_______=

Anyways, it's real nice that you can learn to do this. As for me, I have a real hard time finding a gymnasium which let you do anything

BTW, try aiming for a higher height. It may sund like suicide, but I'm sure you can do a LOT more higher than that.

falling over forward? I have gotten higher but in this clip im pretty high, execpt Im just lazy and I take too long to flip over. Thats why I land crouched instead of straight. There are many ways you can do a wall flip, in mine im doing a flash kick out of it (well sorta) but you can do a full twist, a FRONT flip and different variations of that, its crazy!. But to do it without landing on your head you HAVE to lean back other wise you will go straight up or tilt a bit back and land on your head! .

Yes you are totally right I actually can go way higher, but I just learned this move and Im still abit of a wuss. Although I did get CRAZY mad hight last week too bad I didnt get it on tape, I landed that one perfectly straight too man it felt so effortless as well.

Do you learn this stuff yourself just by following tutorials? Or is there someone at the gym giving you pointers?

I would really like to learn doing tricks of the vast spectrum available myself. I don't know what university life will be like, but I assume I can try learning this stuff in the gym facility in my spare time. Until then, I'll just continue practicing staff twirling.

Now all that's left is airwheels, basic kung-fu, the tiger's knee and the backwards 80 damage kick.

l learnt on the grass outside my house

good place to start is with a mate in your garder for the basics... when you start doing flips, if you got balls, do it yourself (try on a thin matress), but if you scared (and most are) find a gymnastics teacher who can spot you...

just get out and trick... !!!! GOGOGO

Nice, I wish we had the facilities around here to learn stuff like that.
I've always wanted to learn how to backflip.

I'm gonna win Saturday's lottery and move to a decent area
with decent gyms and decent LAN Cafe's and give Flayra a
nice donation towards Unknown Worlds.... and then learn to do flips.

I finally have a plan for life.

    you don't need facilities...

i'm asumming because you are on the internet that you own a house / apparetment. It is then fair to assume that with such house or appartment comes some parking space - perhaps even an area of grass?

    that is all you need

if it's concrete, stick an old matress down

    if it's grass, you're sorted

Meh, grass stains when you mess up (and you WILL mess up), go for the matress to learn; it also hurts less when you land on your head. Gyms are just fun cause you can lay the mats out however you want and do all kinds of cool things with all the stuff you would ever need right there.
