    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->1) Install Steam.

    2) Play HL atleast Once via Steam (just booting up the training mission will do).

    3) Download these 3 files:
    ns_install_v3_b1.exe
    ns_v30_b4_patch.exe
    ns_v30_b4a_patch.exe

    4) Install NS V3.0 Beta 1 (ns_install_v3_b1.exe) (This should auto install to steam\steamApps\your@email\half-life\nsp, if it does not, move the NSP folder there).

    5) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4 (ns_v30_b4_patch.exe) (point this at steam\steamApps\your@email\Half-Life\ do NOT include the NSP).

    6) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4a (ns_v30_b4a_patch.exe) (See * at bottom).

    7) Search your Hard drive(s) for folders named nsp.

    8) If you have more than one you messed up.  Goto Step 3.

If you folow these steps properly you will not get client.dll or map.bsp errors.

If you are positive you have folowed them corectly then redownload the installer form a different location.

*There aslo seems to be a bug with, atleast some of, the 4a installers.  Try pointing it at steamApps\your@email\ instead of steamApps\your@email\half-life

Note: This is a file stored on my desktop because I have to use it so many times.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    You can thank Thansal.

ok ive followed those steps.. i noticed on some of the installations it sais this folder does not exist do u want to create it..i assume this being the nsp.

anyway i did the nsp search and it found 7. here are the details.

    C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\crisis_3@msn.com\half-life\nsp\ns\half-life\nsp

    C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\crisis_3@msn.com\half-life\nsp\half-life\nsp

    C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\crisis_3@msn.com\half-life\half-life\half-life\nsp

    C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\crisis_3@msn.com\half-life\half-life\nsp

    C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\crisis_3@msn.com\half-life\nsp

    C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\crisis_3@msn.com\nsp

ok thats it for now. um u got any ideas? it creates a new nsp everytime i install one of those patches. which 1 do i use :s

The only place there should be an nsp folder is
    C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\crisis_3@msn.com\half-life\nsp
    delete the rest.

If it still dosnt work, delete that nsp folder, and reinstall all 3 installers in order and use their default install path.

    /me shakes his head.

    Best route:

    Remove ALL of those folders:
    nsp\ns\half-life\nsp
    nsp\half-life\nsp
    half-life\half-life\nsp
    half-life\nsp
    nsp
    nsp

    don't remove the first Half-life.

NOW, install via the guide EXACTLY.

infact, inbetweem each step where you run an installer/patcher do the search on your harddrive(s) for nsp.

after each search you should ONLY have one at:
    C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\crisis_3@msn.com\half-life\nsp

if there is a second one (or one that is not in that proper place) simple move it there. (each time let it over write all files)
