For my Monitor
I put a fan in my window (one of those window fans with 2 blades) and my monitor got all fuzzy. The manual said fans can interfere with electro magnetic waves. So anyways, im getting an air conditioner tomorrow, will the air conditioner do the same thing the fan did? Is there any material i can shield my monitor in? Preferably something that won't insulate and overheat it.

Oh, and my monitor is about 2 feet from the window.

Here's a crappy pic of how close the monitor is to window:

Have you tried adjusting your moire settings? This can reduce or eliminate interference from fans.

Just fiddle with the settings to find out: it depends on the interference.

Or you could remove the fan and put lots of massive heat sinks in your room

EM waves are pretty easy to disrupt; if the AC does interfere with your monitor, a sheet of tinfoil (or any other metal) inbetween the two would most likely do the job.

Are the fan and the monitor drawing power from the same circuit (read: wall outlet)?
Try running an extension cord to the fan from another part of your house (an outlet that isn't connected to the same breaker as your PC) and see if you have the same effect.

Is this interference colour distortion, or has the picture gone wobbly, fuzzy, etc?

Try plugging the fan into a socket downstairs, via an extension cable, see if it isn't interference from sharing the same mains spur.
