Ignore Ability

in the forums
After browsing the Ideas and Suggestions forums, I have come to the conclusion that if the forums had an ignore feature, I would be using it. Posts/replies by a unnamed party require more effort to read than I intend to apply and serve as an annoyance more than anything. With this in mind, is it possible to do this in the forums? Perhaps in place of the post/reply there could be a default "ignored" message (to maintain continuity with the rest of the replies) that says something like "This post by "username" has be ignored. To view this post, please click here or remove "username" from your ignore list." Is this possible at all?

Of course it's possible. It's quite simple too. I've done a system just like it for a forum that I was working on, that blocks PMs, posts, and it won't show the user's info either if you don't want it to.

However, I doubt it would be much use here since these forums are so well moderated.

You used to be able to do it. I ignored someone by accident once. I had a quick look for it there and I could not find it. If you go to "My Controls" at the top of the screen there will be a menu down the left that says "PM Buddies/Block List". That might block the users posts but I can't be sure.

Or...you can just, oh I don't know, ignore posts by the person. Yes, you can choose what you read.

Yeah, I don't see what's wrong with just using the nice little scroll button on the mouse.

Yes, I can and do choose what I read, but that wasn't the point of my post. I was just curious if such an ignore feature could be implimented or not.
The PM Buddies/Block List option only blocks PMs (apparently, I haven't gotten any, but I don't expect any either) and not posts.
