Hey people,
My NS server has recently been recently experiencing lag spikes. The server its being hosted on has 4 game servers all up. TFC, NS, FA, and The Specialists. None of these servers experience any form of lag or lag spikes at all. Its only the NS server that is getting them. The server itself has PLENTY of resources and could handle alot more than 4 servers on the same box.
The people that are hosting the server are also not the problem because their servers do not lag at all either. It only happens during PUG Wars / wars were the server limit is 12/14 players.
I was told resetting the server daily could help with alot of things, but this is not the problem. Also i have had suggestions such as changing some settings like maxrate etc.
For the people who run servers themselves.. what are the things you do, to keep your server running smoothly, lag free. I would really appreciate it if you could list some of the server commands with thier field entries ( eg. sv_maxrate 8000 )
Also another thing, i cant seem to get the server ops icon to display for admins of the server. I looked at the list of variables on this forum.. But the example given is the WONID's. How would i enter it with steam id? would it be mp_serverops STEAM_0:0:00000;STEAM_0:0:00001 ?
