Yes, please do not delete, as this is the problem I am having.

I played NS a while back quite a good deal on Steam with no problems. I load steam up today, update to 4a, and when i go into NS via the Steam Games menu, there are no servers.

When I click on the Steam systray icon, and go into Servers from there, it finds them with no problem; however, when I try to connect to one, it goes into the screen with the NS background and tries to connect with the server several times and then comes back with "Failed to contact game server".

Is this just a simple problem perhaps I have not found the answer to yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

These sound like badly configured broadband router/firewall/gateway devices or a possible host firewall. disable the MS firewall if you are running XP, just to test. Disable blackice/free/crap firewall, symantec and then test out the game again.

Are you using any broadband router and if so which model?

Ah, Billcat, I am sorry to say but I am connected directly to the internet. Box -> Cable modem -> wall. No proxies or firewalls and I tried it w/o the xp proxy with no difference.

Any further suggestions or has anyone else seen this? If grim32 is still out there, why did you delete this topic? What solution did you find?

    Good luck!

Edit: Oh, you could try PMing Grim32 and ask for the fix.
