ok, I get what steam is but what's the latest version needed to play Ns

Click on "download steam". You don't need anything except that 300kb file, and it autoupdates itself whenever you launch it. Its really, really hard to screw up. If for some reason it does not work, hit "exit and logout" on Steam and then reconnect.

Ok..........I downloaded Steam. Ran the Initialize/Update and made a profile. I exited Steam and Tried to install Ns beta3 vs 1 or whatever it is and still it came up with the same messege [QUOTE] Steam with proper ThirdParty mod support is not installed. <b>What the **** does the mean!!!!!</b>

You must run half-life at least once (read the stickies).

1. Turn on Steam
2. Double click Half Life
3. When you are in the Half Life screen (with Gordon <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->), press New Game
4. At the next screen, press Training Room then Ok
5. Right after it starts and you are behind the gate and see the ghostly lady thing, click exit
6. After you are at your desktop, double click steam and exit it (NOT exit and logout, just click EXIT)
7. Double click nsbeta3v1 and install
8. Double click nsbeta3v4 and install
9. Double click nsbeta3v4a and install
10. Open steam and wala! Ns should be in the thirdparty section of your games list
