Trouble With Installing

<div class="IPBDescription">It just aint happening</div> Ok, I have downloaded and joined Steam and also all of the Ns patches needed to update my game. I'm a little confused because when I install the patches to my Ns folder the patch automaticly installs into a new folder called half-life. C:/Sierra/Half-life/Ns/Half-Life/ So I have installed the patches and they are sitting in this folder C:/Sierra/Half-life/Ns/Half-Life/ . I tried to play at a server but still I get the same Cl_Dll & Dll differs messege. Is there something els I have to do with the patches once installed??

You need to install NS to your steam folder

C:\Program Files\Steam2\SteamApps\Your-Email\half-life\nsp

Then when you load steam NS will be in the Third Party Games

Ya know there really should be like ONE thread for this, it would help MANY people. Here's what you do:

1. Close Steam
2. Open beta4 and INSTALL IT (No typos, I mean beta4)
3. It will ask for a directory, click BROWSE, THEN you must find your steam folder, usually it's C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Your Email that you used to sign up for a Steam account\half-life
4. INSTALL and then double click beta1
5. Install beta 1, beta 4, then beta 4a
6. Make sweet love to gorgeys

The problem is the first install automatically assumes where your drive is. Beta4 allows you to choose where you actually want it, and beta1 will then "think" thats where you want the NS files. Enjoy.
