I want to make ONE thread to help all of you people.
<span style='color:yellow'><span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>PART I: MATERIALS</span></span>
I assume you have Half-Life the game (the one that is colored orange), some computer knowledge and a decent computer that can run it.
BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD, I RECOMMEND YOU DOWNLOAD FLASHGET, IT MAKES DOWNLOADS VERY FAST.

Here is a list from smallest to largest of the files that are MANDATORY to play NS:

<span style='color:yellow'><span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>PART II: PROCEDURE</span></span>
Install in this order:
1. Half-Life
2. Steam Installation
3. Open up Steam and double click Half-Life on the My Games box.
4. When you get to the screen of Gordon (He's the man with the glasses and goatee) and the black background, click NEW GAME
5. You will get prompted with 4 modes (Training Room, Easy, Medium, Hard), click TRAINING ROOM
6. Right after you start and see a gated wall infront of you and a ghostly lady, hit the ESC key, and EXIT the game.
7. After you exit and see your desktop, click on the little steam icon (black box with the white sticks) on the bottom right of your screen ONCE and click <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>EXIT</span>, <span style='color:red'>NOT</span> EXIT and logout, ONLY EXIT
8. Double click the ns_install_v3_b1 icon Install
9. Double click the ns_v30_b4_patch
10. Double click the ns_v30_b4a_patch
Now boot up steam again and your done!
<span style='color:yellow'><span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>PART III: CHANGING DIRECTORY</span></span>
Follow Part II up to step 9. When you start installing patch4, you will be asked WHERE you want to put the game in. LISTEN CLOSELY AS THIS HELPS MULTIPLE ACCOUNT PROBLEMS! Click on your directory where you want it AND your account that you will be using. Install beta 4 regardless of any circumstances. AFTER it has finished go back to step 8, it will change directories to the one you chose! Then continue back to step 9 and 10 and your done!
