If that marine is the last man defending a vital phase gate ... yeah.
If that marine is running to catch up with the squad ... keep booking it.
An Onos needs an average of 50 kills to get the 75 res for converting to that lifeform, that's excluding res from RTS. Giving him that res is more important than dealing meaningless damage that'll get healed in five seconds from regen.
Of course if you know the Onos has sustained heavy, and I mean near death damage go for it. I love getting Onos kills as a vanilla Marine.
