How far you got...
the reason there is small levels and no weapons and no buildnings or anything in nstr2, is it because you havent gotten farther with the game or is it because its not supposed to be fun and only for mappers...?

Hi Banan. The NSTR2 is specifically desinged for mappers. To see some actual progress shots, with views of ingame action like weapons, Marine models, commander mode, etc, go
aah jeez, now im even more impatient for the game to come out, u got any date? not an excact one but like.. month? in the faq it says january/february but I doubt it..

Knowing my luck it will be released right in the middle of my A-levels, and ill be forced to throw away all hope of going to a good University just for the pleasure of running around on a ceiling in the Half-Life engine. And ive already promised everyone that I wont play TFC 24-7, like I did with my GCSE's.
And to top it all, it will more than likely be released at that european-friendly 2am. Looks like itll be a gap year working in Burger King for me.
lol, wonder if they changed that because of me cause ive said it thousands of times but im 100% sure that it used to say it would be out in january febrary, it said the EXCACT same thing only with january and february, lol,
the nstr2 is fun to play over the net, altho the levels are EXTREMELY small
well, if its because of you, dont say anything j\k, *sigh* i want da bob
Well, I asked 'em to change it 'cause everyone knew it wasn't coming out in February, but we were getting newbies in here asking 'When is it coming out?!?!!?@#!$!$@#' and that was getting a tad tiresome to explain.
I kinda wish they hadn't put a date on it though. I was thinking more 'when it's done' than 'March or April'.
yeah, but it said *maybe feburary* not *coming feburary* *sigh* stalker needs to be more patient
Yes I believe 2 of the 5 alien classes will be able to wall climb. Not just walls, but ceilings too. The alien class in thwe latest tech release can wall climb.
Just one of the aliens can walk on walls. There is another that can bounce off of walls, and one that might be able to hang from ceilings, but only one can walk on walls and ceilings.
if you change your team to alien (or are in a map that allows you to join the alien team by use of a RR type thing) you show up as the "placeholder" Bob model (which is something out of Opposing Force) and can use the CTRL key to latch on to and climb any wall steeper than 45 degrees.
I can't remember off the top of my head what the console command to change teams is (or if there even IS a command). You really don't need a very detailed map to set it up to join a specific team. All you'd need is a box containing all the right entities (info_player_start, mapinfo, info_teamjoin, info_team_start, etc etc), and then you could be alien and climb around on the six walls (five walls and a floor) of your box to your heart's content.

These are all shots from December, so you can imagine there's been quite a bit of progress since then...
UPDATE: Almost forgot: there is also The Readyroom's exclusive
