<div class="IPBDescription">one cable connection</div> Hey,

Just dragged my PC round to a friends place to play some NS with a few of his mates over his Cable. We have found that if any more than 2 people join one server, then anyone else that tries to join ends up with a "retry connection" message, then they get d/ced.

We all have separate steam id's, and we can all join servers independently or in pairs, but we cant manage more than 2 people on one server. We have also tried multiple servers. I'm pretty sure that its not hardware related, although it could be something to do with the cable modem/s. One is a motorola, the other is a belkin - both are on and running at the same time.

Forum search turned up empty handed - so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    wait a sec....

you have 2 modems hooked up on via one ISP?

    soloution is: Don't
this ticks off your ISP (as it will force them to assign 2 IPs)

the way you SHOULD do this is run the one modem into a router and then split it into a LAN.

    As for the problem:
I have seen a few other people having problems with multiple people trying to connect to the same server from one IP (aka same house). I think this might be a steam thing.

oh well, not sure (not even positive I under stand what your saying)

/me goes back to dancing in glee that he has internet connection again!
