Pc Upgrade Time

<div class="IPBDescription">Thread #45151 :)</div> Currently i'm looking to upgrade my:

2.0GHz P4
1024MB RDram(256x4)
Dell dimension 8200 Mobo
Aeolus Geforce FX 5600XT

I'm looking at around 2.8-3.0 GHz P4s
And a 9800Pro or an X800Pro(just over 300 pounds)
A mobo better than my current one.
A wireless router+2 reciever cards.

I'm not sure about mobos(read: no idea whatsoever)
Does it need to specifically support RDRam or something?
And i've been looking at some mobos and they only have a few PCI slots.


Don't try and convince me to get AMD, i'm not going to, but suggestions on any other parts are open to suggestions

    Yes, the motherboard has to support the RAM you want to stick in it. If you're getting a P4, I'd suggest an Intel motherboard. Keep it in the family.
