Install Problems =(

I run on a Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ processor
Radeon 9800 Pro
Audigy 2 sound card
1 gig of ddr pc3200 ram
my OS is Windows XP

I hope that was enough info...
Well, i went to the website, downloaded the install file, and the 2 patches (for beta) and followed the instructions on the download page. Now when ever I try to open the game from steam, it has the back round of the 2 aliens on the wall and the 2 marines comming around the corner, but it has the hour glass and the options dont come up. It then will shut down and i am back at my desk top. I have tried re-installing several times, but nothing seems to work. Please help

Oh and as i was writing this it just came to me that i didnt download the latest drivers for my graphics card, that may be the problem, if it is then ill post and tell you if it was or not. I installed the drivers for my computer and it seems to be working fine <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo-->
