Help!
Ok, I'm not in the market for new monitors anytime soon, but I'm starting to do more research on what's available so I know what I'll eventually be getting, though probably there will be new stuff out by then.

Anyway, I currently have twin 20" Sony/SGI monitors running at 1600x1200. Are there any decent flat-panel monitors on the market today that have a) this size and b) this resolution? I have a spiffy new L-shaped desk, but neither monitor can fit on the damned thing because the max supported weight on each side is 15 less than the monitors weigh . Also, these put out a ton of heat, and manage to fill half the apartment with warm air - not pleasant this time of year.

I recently upgraded my notebook, and while the image quality isn't the best while gaming, it's certainly serviceable. This wasn't even the highest quality screen option available when I ordered it, so I imagine there's stuff on the market decent enough for my purposes.

Also, aren't LCD monitors measured by actual viewable size, so a 19" would be 19" viewable? Or am I mistaken? If that's the case, then even dual 19" monitors would be suitable, as these are 19.1" viewable. Help me out here!

Monitors were $250 each refurbished, cosmetic defects only . I got one and my friend got one, then I bought his for $70 plus my old 17".

Those are both 1280x1024... trust me after working at 1600x1200, anything less is like trying to push a car up mt. Everest, or trying to get valve to finish HL2. Not possible in other words.

Since one of my dual monitors died, I'm also looking for 19" LCDs at 1600x1200 Finding CRTs that can do 1600x1200x85hz isn't easy. They all only do 75hz, which gives me a headache, so I just gave up and decided to save up for LCDs.
