<div class="IPBDescription">The Expansion Period</div> Well it's been some long months since I posted Part 1 but finally I've finished Part 2 of Gates, Moons and Stars. I apologise for the delay, but final year university really does chew time.

Once again, my thanks go out to Rob6264 for hosting the story on his Synergy Sanctum website.
Something I think I should address is Chapter 1. In writing Gates, Moons and Stars I have tried to keep to the official literature as much as possible, as after all I'm trying to write as accurate a history as I can. But if you read the official
<a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/manual/front_phasetech.html' target='_blank'>manual</a> that describes the functionality of phase technology, it clearly states:
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> When a marine steps into a phase gate, he becomes the anchor for a subject field. A tunnel is then carved through dimensional space, guided by the observatory, till it finds another phase gate. This tunnel is called the "potentiality stream". To put it simply, it makes it more and more likely that the subject will actually be in the new location, until it becomes so likely the probability fulfills itself, and the subject is.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
You can see the problem I faced: because you need two phase gates to teleport an object, the Expansion Period becomes impossible. Given the time frame, of around 90 years, mankind with light-speed capable space-craft could colonize maybe half a dozen planets on the closest stars. We certainly could not spread across most of the galexy. So I hashed together a differant explaination. It was a nessessary evil that I really didn't want to do.
Secondly, there is no real official name for the period between c.2140 and the current date (c.2200). I named it the Consolidation Period because it seemed to make the most sense to me.
Thus-far those are the only liberties I have taken with the official material on the subject. I don't forsee having to write any more.
Thankyou to everyone for your feedback on Part 1; I hope Part 2 will be as well recieved.

NOW MORE?!?!?
/me runs around in small circles screaming.
--Scythe--
(In chapter 9) just to let you know, adenosine tri-phosphate is not an amino acid, it's the molecule formed after sugars and amino acids are broken down for energy.
No no, it could be used as an energy source, it's just not an amino acid like you said it was...nor is it a sugar.
Oh I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding, and thanks for the information. I'll correct it now. The sugar referance was for stuff like glucose.
Here's a Word document I made of the whole thing, for those who want to print it... I hope you don't mind! If you do, just say, and I'll get rid of the attachment!
