It just seems like development of ns is just a bunch of broken promises. You guys tell us that this next patch will be revolutionary. You told us that bugs will be fixed and this game will have new life. After a year I just don't want to believe that this new version will be better.

If you want proof on the effects of these broken promises just look at the old CAL pages. <a href='http://www.caleague.com/old/?page=schedule&div=natsl' target='_blank'>http://www.caleague.com/old/?page=schedule&div=natsl</a>
This season started with 42 teams that followed on to the next week. Then week after week teams left, teams disbanded, the community dies.

One thing I always respected about DoD and CS was that each patch was playable in its own likes. When huge problems come out that could cause gameplay problems they released a new version right away. Most of the NS releases are bug fixes and REALLY weak bugfixes at that. Look at the mantis viewer and sort by major bugs. You have some that have not been updated since JANUARY 2004. There were versions out since january and it was still not fixed. It just seems like a utter lack of organization and management. Not lack of skill or "Love for the game"

In my opinion, the devs are not inactive. There are many many bugs and the dev team is working on fixing it. There really is no point on making an update for every little bug they fix. Let them do their stuff. And you can tell they have not stopped working, check the bugtracker.

    I say keep at it devs. <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It's not that the fixes take a long time or anything else, it's just that we don't feel any support from the dev team whatsoever.

Look at any other unofficial mod ( and official). The devs post news often, with new pictures or updates on version, or at least visit the forums. However, it seems like the NS Devs just aren't there. There have been only a few updates about once a month, each basically saying nothing, as they can't keep release dates ( then why should they talk about them? ).

I'm sure Flayra has a busy life, even if it does take about 5 minutes to write a news post or post on the forums, which would be enough to keep people busy and knowing that the devs are listenining.

It's simply impossible for the game to go forward if the only feedback that's recieved by them is 10 minutes before the beta is released, and even such major topics as unchained chambers have recieved no dev talk whatsoever.

And even if Flayra is busy, one of the other devs could update the website once in a while, we're not asking for daily developer journals.

Look, a simple format that takes five seconds to write :

Hey guys. The patch so far is working good. We fixed a whole bunch of bugs and updated maps ( such as eclipse ( pic of update ). However, we ran into some trouble during the latest bug tests, with the crash and listenserver bugs. The new devs are working feverishly to fix it, but I'm not sure if the deadline will be met.

Here's a pic of our new website, some other random news

This is just another update : We have fixed the crashbugs and are now thinking of several new features to add. Please respond to this poll (link) about the Unchained Chambers, something we're really looking into. Also, here are a few screenshots from the latest beta, showing several map updates on bast

    pic pic pic

We're hoping for the patch to be released before the CPL, which is bla bla

Updates like that would be abosolutely awsome!

I would really like it if we did not have to search a bug data base to find any signs of life from the dev team... I mean would it be that big of a deal to run polls and to give tiny updates once a week with what they are doing to the game we all love?

Maybe we ask too much from a volunteer possition....

Do not forget that we have the POV of outsiders of the team. What people are nagging for is just a proper PR-manager. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Ah, yes; let's just ignore the consumers. I hope you know what happens to products no one buys... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Well, it's been that way since MonsE left. Comprox & Nem Zero have done their best to fill this void, but I don't think the fault is theirs. I don't think they had much to fill it with. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
