I use leap for getting into vents and onto ceilings in a hurry. I have tried the leap-bite thing, and find it very difficult, so I content myself with leaping right past the marines and then biting them as they spin around shrieking.

Other structures go down even faster.

Biting does almost as much damage per second as a full-on leap, yet is hard to screw up and doesn't drain all your energy nearly as fast. With the proper key config(and non-horrible framerate) and with an understanding of air controll it's not very hard.
If you're playing with the arrow keys, stop it, really I used to love the good old arrowkeys, but the thing is if you use w, a, s, d or e, s, d, f for movement you have so many more keys easily accesible with your left hand(assuming mouse in right hand). It's worth getting used to this since it's such a big advantage. If you simply change to hud_fastswitch 1 you can directly bind any slot to some easily accesible location. I find it very usefull to bind mouse2 to the primary weapon(slot1).
Some people prefer to use lastinv or romano's client side version of it(a few scripts that emulate lastinv but skip the added latency of using lastinv).
With your setup of choice you'll quite quickly learn to change weapons back and forth very fast when needed. All you do is leap(+attack), lastinv/slot1, wait until you get close and then bite(+attack). It's the same sort of sequence as blinking and swiping or leaping and xenociding or blinking and metabolizing or spamming some umbra and quickly changing to bite or stomping and devouring etc. But this is allmost worthless without air controll as the marine will probably just move out of the way and you'll go zooming by.
In allmost all HL MODs you can turn in the air, not just your view but your physical velocity, the most usefull variant of this is to run forwards, jump and let go of forward. Now strafe right or left and turn your mouse in the same direction, not too fast or you will slow down. When you master this you can easily do some very acrobatic things with leap, blink and just jumping with any creature.
Activate xeno and leap toward rines while u still have adren Nothing exept non-damaged HA will stand a chance Usefull for killing JPs and big group of rines
Leap is actually quite effective, I was comm and 1 marine was camping at corner. Aliens had 2 hives and MC and DC. Then I was going to put RT there where mainre was camping but i heard skulk coming there. It had Adrenaline and maybe regen i dont know, but definetely adrenaline. This skulk, leaped straight at this camping marine and made 3 or 4 times leap to that marine and skulk killed him. This marine had full armor (lvl 0) and full health. It was kind of funny looking. Marine tried to shoot the skulk but he didnt hit it. You should have seen it
for those of you who have no idea what you're talking about... when you maintain contact with leap, it does a hell of a lot of damage. Go test it with someone you know. Have them stand still, get on their head, aim down to their body, and leap. The leap does a total of 44 damage, or in the general area of that.
Leap kills are remarkably easy to get with good aim. Camp an entrance and leap down onto a guy's head, maintaining contact even after the leap finishes, because it's still doing damage.
Leap goes by contact time iirc so really make sure you hit the rine for as long as possible.
If you're CLOSE to him you'll find it easier to do max damage. I nailed a rine in a vent by getting up close and spamming leap right in his face. Other things to try are getting one bite in, retreating, then going in for a crazed leap attack.
However, leap's mainly used for travelling, getting into vents, flying into a base before xenoing.....etc..
time 2 end this with jack the little rascel (my furry little fwend )
leap does 80 damage (so the slot says), and when u change 2 bite and u kil a marine with leap, it counts as a bite kill... so if u wanna show off, keep leaping with adrenaline into a marine without changing it 2 bite... bingo... now... jack the little rascel says...
leap does about 4dmg and is suppoded to get right in the enemy face without trapping him (in case it fails) bind something next to your movement keys (numpad 1) and swich to bite when you get close enough and enjoy your meal
