Let me preface this by saying that today was, all said and done, not the best day of the last weeks. When you wake up to sixty forum reports (we normally get ten to twelve on a busy day) and an unreleased Beta build, that's not too surprising.
So, I slog through the hours, until I click on <a href='http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/journal.asp' target='_blank'>Neil Gaimans</a> web journal. There, he <a href='http://superherohype.com/index.php?id=1774' target='_blank'>links</a> us to a newspost announcing that Death: The High Cost of Living will be made into a feature film by New Line Cinema. Possible director? Gaiman himself.
Now, I sit in front of my screen, giggling on my newfound endorphine high. Life is good!

Never heard of "Death: The High Cost of Living"...
A little background would have been nice.
True.. it doesnt have anything to do with god and there is no discussion about Neil Gaimans work.
Just whine about work <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Anyway, my dear non-Gaimanists, meet Death:
<img src='http://www.vamp.org/Gothic/Images/images/death3.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
She and her siblings - among them Destiny, Desire, Dream, and Despair (Noticing the pattern?) - are the main protagonists of Neil Gaimans <a href='http://www.dyve.net/sandman/' target='_blank'>Sandman comics</a> (caution when reading the site, it's partly quite spoiler-heavy), pretty much the most critically acclaimed comic books of all time.
'<a href='http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1563891336/102-4783985-7160118?v=glance' target='_blank'>Death: The High Cost of Living</a>' is a spin-off comic to said series, and being the total Gaiman fanboy I am, I'm <i>quite</i> euphoric about the prospect of it being turned into a well funded movie.
Oh, and I giggle quite regularily, although bans are usually accompanied by frustrated grunts and various German and Englisch curses.
In six months time they'll cancel production of your movie so that they can continue to produce offensive Star Wars debacle-o-games, simply because they couldn't trust one of the last bankable assets they had.
Hope, eh?
hihihi
Wasn't it "Cripple Mr Onion"? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

That's not exactly his sort of game.
Gaimans death is prettier though.
I bet he got bullied at school for his surname
What's even more surprising - it wasn't me. I quite liked your use of the word 'boi'.

I'd usually fear the same, but then, New Line was willing to fund The Lord of the Rings, so there's hope...
I was merely pointing out that I enjoyed that part of the sentence <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I said 'boi'?
And as for Nem's revelation...
<span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>Hello and welcome to last week Nem.</span>
Next you'll be revealing that they plan to make Alien Versus Predator.
(adds to list).
I managed to buy 8 Anne Rice hard-back books, on sat, £3 each and brand new (not stolen either, perfectly legit).
All I can say is woo

I was well aware of the movie being in the planning - the director piece was what prompted me to post. Unfortunately, it appears to have been a mixup on Varietys side.
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Ironically enough, Mr Pratchett and Mr Gaiman co-authored a book together, called Good Omes. Even more ironically, Good Omens has been in pre-production serveral times by now, and failed every time before they started shooting it, despite it being one of the best selling English books of the last decade.
