Ns On Cs:cz

Hey guys,

I've searched but did not find any info so I'll ask you:

In the FAQ it says "runs on any installation of full halflife and counterstrike". I have Counterstrike: Condition Zero installed (with Steam apparently).

Is this gonna work together? Can I run NS with CS:CZ?

Welcome to the boards. One of these days, maybe very soon Thansal will get his just recognition with a stickie:

Guide for instilation:

1) Install Steam.

2) Play HL atleast Once via Steam (just booting up the training mission will do).

3) Download these 3 files:
ns_install_v3_b1.exe
ns_v30_b4_patch.exe
ns_v30_b4a_patch.exe

4) Install NS V3.0 Beta 1 (ns_install_v3_b1.exe) (This should auto install to steam\steamApps\your@email\half-life\nsp, if it does not, move the NSP folder there).

5) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4 (ns_v30_b4_patch.exe) (point this at steam\steamApps\your@email\Half-Life\ do NOT include the NSP).

6) Install NS V3.0 Beta 4a (ns_v30_b4a_patch.exe) (See * at bottom).

7) Search your Hard drive(s) for folders named nsp.

8) If you have more than one you messed up. Goto Step 3.


If you folow these steps properly you will not get client.dll or map.bsp errors.

If you are positive you have folowed them corectly then redownload the installer form a different location.

*There aslo seems to be a bug with, atleast some of, the 4a installers. Try pointing it at steamApps\your@email\ instead of steamApps\your@email\half-life

The last person that I tried to help couldn't get it to work.

This might have been b/c he was an idiot. It also could have been an joke that Sierra has played on all you CS:CZ Buyers.

That guide refered to CS Retail (not CS:CZ).

For NS (or any 3rd party game) to run correctly on Steam you have to have HL installed (I think, see downl below for posible soloution).

You can actualy download it by simply double clicking on HL in the games list of Steam. The other guy claimed that his CS:CZ CD-Key wouldn't get him it (thus screwing you). Try any way.

If this dosn't work then you could TRY installing it to another Dir, though I am not sure which one. To help me out tell me what folders are in your SteamApss\Email\ folder (or possibly just SteamApps)

GL, and and give me as much info as you can (as I am working blind on this one)

I will try that solution with clicking on HL in the games list in steam and will let you know if it works. Thanks so far...
