When i quit the game after playing a while i can't connect to any sites, or send messages on MSN messenger... i am still connected to IRC, but if i disconnect manually i cannot connect again(error "Cannot create socket: no buffer space available"). My connection works normally again after rebooting.
Any clues?

thanks in advance anyway.

    Adaware
    Spy Bot Search And Destroy
    AVG

    google
    download
    install
    update
    run

(this will clean your computer of malware)

bring up the taskmanager (3 findr salute, ctrl-alt-del)
make sure Steam is turned off (use the processes tab)

Thanks for the quick reply, Thansal.

I already have AdAware and run it regularly. But i am indeed infected with a coolwebsearch(i think) variant, and tried inumerous ways and different software with no luck.

then im afraid you will have to reboot your system.. or just call your vendor like dell and ask them to help.

    for your malware:
    <a href='http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/CoolWebSearch.html' target='_blank'>http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/CoolWebSearch.html</a>

    first hit in google mate.

also, get the other 2 (spy bot S&D catches stuff adaware misses and vica versa)
    AVG is a virus proc

did you check the proceses? (I am underthe impression that something is sucking your system resources)

Also try and kill all other programs before you start up Steam and play stuff, and then see what happens (and try and kill steam via task managaer if it still exists)
