<div class="IPBDescription">My F1rst Foot pursuit</div> Ooh exciting times for Cpl.Davis tonight at 0115 in the morning.

Since im in the process of becoming a police officer, one of the many things i get to do on my job (when im not dealing with all the arrested morons) is go out and patrol with everyone else and do whatever so i can get some good first hand field expirience.

So we were driving around all night long in our 32 street/block sector, driving around in circles with nothing happening.

We stop to get something to eat real fast and while us and another officer were siting around we get a call for a suspicious person inside a familes apartment.
Which just happens to be about 2 streets over.

So we all run out to the cars and drive on over.

We get to the apartment complex about 2 min later and are met by the family and friends who made the 911 call out on the street. They quickly tell us what happened and what the guy looks like etc.

While this is happening, someone suddenly shouts "Look there he is behind those trees!"

And what do ya know? There is the guy who the family called about. Just walking on over.

The second he sees us he sprints away. All three of us "Hey GET OVER HERE! STOP!"

which didnt do anything of course... meh.

We all run after him down the street through parked cars etc for about 120 meters full sprint until he turns into a parking lot.

At this point I and one of the officers were only 10 feet behind him. The man spins around suddenly and goes "AARRGHH!!!" and grabs my buddy around the throat and tries to choke him.

This however only lasted for about 0.25 seconds because while the idiot may have stopped running, my buddy and I didnt ^_^ "GET DOWN ON THE GROUND! DO IT NOW!"

And to make a short story shorter he basically got Onos charged into the ground. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

We then quickly handcuffed him and dragged him over to the curb where he and the complaining family decided to do the mature thing *sigh and yell "colorful" comments at each other. And so we had to separate everyone and try to continue.

So yea after that we got to listen to him complain and cry about how he didnt do anything (of course) and then eventually after talking to everyone and establishing all that had happened send him off on his way to the station.

Mission accomplished. Good guys +1, idiot criminals 0 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You won't get that one into America's Hottest Police Chases on Foot™, but hey, you've got a long career ahead of you. Pretty good for starters.

American police to arse about, unlike the british police. Americans catch criminals and hurt them on site and ask questions later, british police dont for fear of getting these **** sued off.

However some british police have now been equiped with tazors to help catch fleeing criminals.

Remember, Charge is good, but only one takes 'em out for quite a while.

    Devour.

We dont have tasers (some departments do but we dont yet), we have peppermace, but you cant spray someone with it while you are running b/c you it will blow in into your face. >_<

And hey, we never try to just "hurt someone on site" but if they resist, try to attack someone, or try to get away after hurting someone else as in this case we always use the minimum force needed to get the guy. Or we can get sued too lol. Its not just british police that have to worry about that.

In fact very rarely do we ever have to use force anyways, 95% of the time the presence of the police itself is enough to stop any confrontations.

But in this case the suspect decided to run away after hurting people, and then turn around and fight us all the way down when he trapped himself.

British police have done their job over the last week. They have managed to catch britains most wanted man who was a murder. He murdered 2 people less than 10 miles from where i live and was caught about 18 miles away. Its always quite disturbing in a fairly small town with hardly any murders to hear britains most wanted man is in the area and has murdered people in a small village where alot of my friends live

First time I ever had to chase anybody was a 15 year old kid.
Except he took a swing at an officer first.
And he forgot that I had a hold of his left arm.
And that the other officer was 100 lbs bigger than him.
And he didn't really run but rather jerk his shoulder out of the socket as I was still holding his arm and he tried to take off.

I learned that day that it probably it looks pretty painful wearing handcuffs with a dislocated shoulder.

Breaking up with your girlfriend - $0
Buying a soda to drink while stalking her in the mall $1
Throwing a temper tantrum in a dept store $500 property damage

Getting handcuffed with a dislocated arm because you tried to punch a 250lb police officer? Priceless
