<div class="IPBDescription">whenever I see a marine model</div> the game runs great...but whenever I see a marine model come across my screen I suddenly get about .00005 fps and my lag jumps from about 50-100 to 500-2000 until the marine is off my screen...anyone else experience this or know how to fix it? ive reinstalled...ive downloaded the game from different mirrors...I dont know what else it could be...my system is more than enough to run the game and I run all other half life based games just fine

Chances are, your 'rate' is set wrong. First, open Steam. Click settings, and hit the 'connection' tab. Select whatever your internet connection is, and click OK.

set rate after what connection you have.

modem(ugh modems :S) around 5000 rate
ISDN / dial up 6500 rate
DSL/ADSL/Fast connection rate 20000 or 25000

If you have double isdn (115-128kbs) use rate 12550 (i had the table for all connection somwhere <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
