My Netgear RP614v2 Router
I wanna host a NS game so me and my friends can play on. It's not a Dedicated server, just hosting a game when we feel like all playing. Anyways, I have a NetGear RP614v2 router, and it says I need to forward ports, but I don't know what ports NS uses so I can open them. Anybody who knows networking can help me with his? kthnx

This does belong in the server forum..

but just the same, there is only one good site for this sort of thing and it pretty much covers all the basis in a clear easy to understand format, provided you can read..

http://www.ladt.us/servers/hldsrouter.htm <-- see if that works for you.

If that doesn't work, try here.

If every one is on a LAN, then you have no reason to foward ports.

    Fowarding ports is this:
External Computer makes request of your 'computer' (aka your LAN, remember, all other computers see your LAN as one comp). Your Router then decides WHO to send said request to, and if they should let The internal computer send stuff back out via that port.

You are not leaving your LAN (infact I suggest not plugging the router into your Net Connection), therefore you don't need to foward ports

Oh, and remember, the IP you want them to connect to is the internal IP (probably something like 192.168.1.10*:*****)
