Question About Sound Cards

<div class="IPBDescription">I've had this one for a while...</div> I've got a soundblaster 512 PCI. I think I need to replace it, however its able to use EAX, and EAX 2. Should I treat my soundcard as I do a video card and replace it and upgrade every couple years? I've had this one since 98....

Nah, SBLive-serie is good enough, even though they do not support all effects (EAX3.0 and 4.0) anymore. If you buy the newest Audigy, I'm sure you can get along with it for the next 10 years without a worry, as the next, logical step (32-bit) does not bring any bigger improvements.

I agree. You're fine unless you're an audiophile (those are the people who use words like "eargasm").
