Okay, so local EB Games gets DOOM 3 tommorrow, and thus,I can get my copy tommorrow.
However, my 6800GT won't be here until Thursday, and my 3.06ghz cpu might not even be in till Friday.
Do I go ahead and start playing on my craptacular ti4400 in low res/low quality?
Or do I let the DOOM 3 box sit there and give me sexually suggestive looks for a few days until my new hardware arrives?

Because the game isn't likely to arrive tommorrow, I'm gonna go to the nickel arcade and let out my agressions with DDR.
On Wednesday, probably the same, but not as long.

If it isn't here by thursday night, EBGames is gonna get one hell of a nasty e-mail detailing why paying for 2 day shipping and not getting what I paid for is a **** deal.
...but DOOM, realize- I have one hell of a willpower. I'm the kind of guy that once resisted sex from one of the prettiest(and well-respected!) girls in school. But this is just driving me crazy. If I were you, I'd just play the craptacular version, then restart when you get the stuff. You know, for skill's sake.

How is spending $700 of money I don't have on hardware to run it in the absolute highest OMG BIG setting available? I think that qualifies. :P
I think I'm gonna wait. I'm just gonna keep myself tb'ed from #ns because a few of you have already let loose some spoilers I'd rather not know about, and I'm gonna try to stop looking at screenies as I've already seen more than I should have, and I'm just gonna work on Brains till it gets here. That might make up for the month or two I go w/o touching a line of code because I'm busy w/ DOOM3... :P

Simply because the game will look much better, and obviously, scare better (if you have a good sound card)
However, you shouldn't actually play the game itself on the bad system.
2 suggestions, either you buy a really fancy game that'll just about run on what you've got, play that and then have the fun of seeing what its like on your new one or... if you can somehow be strong enough, install Doom3 and run about on a tutorial/multiplayer map, at the very start and hope the action doesn't kick in straight away.
That last one will really hurt though.
