Great Job! She looks very realistic!
Although the recoil from the shotty, might take off an arm...
Excellent Work!
The only criticism I can come up with right now is that the helmet visor seems to be a little bit too high for the helmet to be on, and a little bit too low for the helmet to be not on.
In other words, the visor isn't positioned correctly.
EDIT: The torso and abdoment seem to be slightly out of proportion, and the shoulders are a bit misaligned. Otherwise, not much to pick on for a 3 hour effort. Good job.
incredable so far, once it's done i think i have a new desktop....
I dont think that she would fir it like that. Nobody would be that silly.

I really love these pictues of yours. They have all been very impressive so far
Do you want me to make it desktop size? Because all I'd have to do is change the background a little. o-o
And I take it your name's Minerva?

The helmet looks screwed up only because you didn't draw the rest of the head/face...
[Armor seems a bit minimal, too...]
Looks very nice btw.

lol yeah. I totally forgot most of the designs on the armor, especially on the shoulder and arm guards. For now, it's just a matter if I wanna edit the picture or not.
permission granted, soldier.

(yes lately ive been giving crits to people because i feel i should now so dont take offence to this im trying to help ya out here for any future pics you do)
the straps holding the armour dont look like theyre holding it. let alone dont really look like straps. they just look like band patterns on her pants. i would suggest to make the straps look like theyre holding the armour and to give them a little darker shading to make ti look like they are over the pants.
her face is very well done, its her chin strap which bothers me, it has no shading on it.
the shotgun is done well. it could do with a little more detail and my only other crit is it slightly dont look like shes holding it.
id suggest you get familiar with using layers to do pictures. it is infact alot easier than to do it on only one or two layers. even if it comes to having 60 layers for a small picture. its easier to work with and fix things up without having to delete a portion of a part your happy with.
im not sure if you use a mouse or a tablet. but either way i know how far you can improve with either tool (i used to use a mouse for all my art. only recently been using a tablet ) .
you are showing great progress. i hope these crits will help you to learn to pay attention to every detail and focusing on a more improved finished product. the only way to learn is to get some crits now and then from people.. im not saying im the best. im still learning. but i now feel eligble enough to give my opinions and crits to some people to help acheive what i did.
like i said, excellent work. just use more layers etc <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> the worst thing to do is to do a whole picture on one layer'
im not trying to hassle ya or anything. but if i never got crits for my very first ns art from some people, id never have improved. so yer <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> im doing you a favour
infact im bloody glad theres another female artist <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> we need more. i now know 3 female artists. you me and lerky.
But I do disagree with you on using multple layers for digital painting. I prefer to do it as if it was like the real thing- on one big canvas- and constantly layer and rework the colors as I progress, working VERY loosely. It feels way better for me because then I can see the whole picture very quickly and tweak as I go along.
I use a tablet in all digital painting I do. For coloring line work for cel-shading, I use the mouse. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Thank you so much again for that VERY good crit kylie.
To each her own. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
yeah i can understand the canvas style and yes it is a good feeling tho with canvas its the same. you do the bg first, then you go from the back to thr front to your finished product. which is more or less layering anyway, just flattened layering.
myself i always go from back to front. my worst mistake in my early experience was i did the front image first and then i had no interest to do the back. but if i did the back first i paid more attention to doing all of it than just a part of it. many artists warned me that no matter how much i wanna do the front and all of it. do the back first..
yes i love my layers lol. just makes it easier to redo things im not happy with <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
i know youd want to see what your image looks like basic and then tweaking etc but usually its best to go back to front. ie the black bg, then the smoke, then the skin, then the hair, the clothes, the armour, the weapons etc. doing them one at a time instead of all at once and fixing up after the base colours are on . <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
thats why i like layers i can put the basic colours on in dif layers so its easier to tweak etc and so i can change them .

I'd smooth the edges on the armor a bit more. Do it and you got a winner (ns_hera, isn't it? 0.o )
and yup, Hera
