    Zaggy, why not do a search and see the multiple posts tailsin has made that shows ATI is the better card to get.

    Ya, 2bad the X800 is €500 in Europe -__- and the Radeon 9800 Pro = € 300

    Shop around a bit. I got my 9800 Pro for 240, and that was some time ago.

    You can get a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb at <a href='http://www.newegg.com' target='_blank'>NewEgg</a> for $223. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Nem : How does your 9800 Pro work with DOOM3? (assuming you have it...) I'm tryin to decide between a 9800 pro and x800. (x800 is so damn expensive.... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

    I say wait for a while. The Ti4200 should run stuff for a while longer, and there's no point in upgrading now if waiting for a while would nab you an x800 or similar chipset.

    Hmm, so I guess buying a Radeon 9600 256 mb for €125 isn't just worth it eh?

    you can get an X800 Pro for ~£300(€450)
    from <a href='http://www.overclockers.co.uk' target='_blank'>Overclockers.co.uk</a>

    You can also get a 9800Pro 128MB for ~£132(€198) from the same site

    (the main price quoted is before Tax, and the one in brackets is after tax at 17.5%, i believe Tax in the netherlands is 19%, so it's actually a bit more than what I stated above)

    I picked up a 9800 Pro (saphire light vesrion) for £135 inc. local British sales tax from overclockers. It is also confirmed to be the R360 core so it should flash up to a 9800 XT.

    No, the 9600 isn't worth upgrading to. You'll see a performance boost, but nowhere near as dramatic as going for a 9800 Pro or saving up for an X800. The last decent midrange card ATi put out was the 9500. Now they've gone to high and ultra-high range... so the *600 is bumped to being the low-end.

    I'd go with the 9800 Pro, if I were upgrading and didn't have $500 to jump on an X800 XTPE. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
