<div class="IPBDescription">help</div> i have a problem with all the thirdpart games from steam : i can play them 1time in a server and when the map changes or i change server my computer restarts it happens every time i dont know hat to do help me plz
I had a similar problem to this. However it was not with NS but with Day of Defeat. My computer would not restart, but HL would lockup (which with some OS configurations can cause a restart).
I forget how I solved (or it went away) the problem. However a work around for me was to type 'retry' or 'reconnect' in the console as soon as the map was about to switch. This allowed me to avoid whatever bug was causing the crash.
There are two problems here. Firstly, the game crashing. Secondly, the PC restarting when a crash occurs. This is a server-type setting left in as a dodgy default when MS made the port from the network OS 2000/NT to the network/home OS XP. (With some good ol' 98 thrown into the mix.)
Anyways, Winkey+Pause, Advanced, Startup and Recovery => Settings. Under "System Failure" uncheck all 3 boxes, and set the Combo box to "(none)".

Now post back with details on the BSOD given at the crash. Or other critical errors. Also your OS (I pressumed it is XP for this post,) windows update info, config tweaks, etc.
I cant think of much that happens client side in a map change that you could have mucked up. The configs are executed at join, so that would effect the 1st game too. Meh, it may be worth trying to use default configs anyway, just to rule it out. HTH
(And yeah, someone move this to Tech support please.)
