A how-to, please help.
Alright my dad finally got his laptop and now I'm fixing to set up Wi-Fi this weekend in my spare time. I know how to set it up, but I no nothing about wireless security. I read a little bit on it, but I would really like to know more.

If you guys could tell me how to easily secure my wirelss network, I would be forever in your debt.

First step is to enable WEP encryption. It should be somewhere under your router's advanced properties. That will stop neighbors/wardrivers. If you want to be even more secure, you can hardcode the MAC addresses of your wireless cards into the router, so only your devices can get access. Seeing as I dont own wireless, thats just what I heard

WPA > WEP as far as encryption goes. Set up WPA and the MAC filter, and then only you can connect, AND the data will be encrypted. Not impossible to break, but not as easy as WEP either.

First: there is no such thing as wireless security. Where is Talesin when we need him .
