I two CD keys. One is mine and one is my brother's. I want to give one back to him but I don't know which one is not being used.

If you still have Half Life installed you can find it here
start > run > regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Valve > Half Life >settings > Key
If you are using Steam then you just need to make two accouts. Then you can keep your details to yourself

It doesnt matter what CD key you use to make your steam account, so as long as you have one CD key you can both has your own accounts.

Did you at <i>any</i> time have Half-Life (with WON not Steam) installed on your computer? Because if you did it might still be in the registry.

simple soloution:

give him both CD Keys.
Have him try to register, then if he gets the CD key already registered, then just have him use the other.
